Dulse and Lemon Marinated Asian Greens

Ingredients

1 bunch Bok Choy chopped

2 Carrots julienned or grated

1 Head Broccoli

1/3 cup Arame Seaweed (soaked in cold water for 10 min)

Black and White Sesame seeds to garnish

Lemony dulse dressing:

1/2 cup Water

1/4 cup Olive Oil

2 tbsps Miso

1 Garlic clove

2 tbsps Lemon Juice

1/2 cup Whole Dulse

Directions

Preparing the broccoli: Put the broccoli into a large bowl and pour nearly boiling water over it.

Drain the broccoli after a minute and plunge it into cold water. This will turn the broccoli bright green and make it more palatable without negatively affecting the nutrients.

Drain the broccoli well.

Combine all the vegetables in a bowl with the soaked and drained seaweed.

To make the dressing place everything in a blender and blend till smooth. Add enough dressing to coat the vegetables in the bowl and massage it through.

Allow to marinate for 30 min so the flavours have a chance to develop.

Notes

Conscious tips
Both bok choy and broccoli help speed your liver’s ability to detoxify. Miso, dulse and arame help with removing heavy metals and toxins from the body. Sesame seeds contain sesamin which supports liver function.
